Vice Commodore Report

The Alan Robinson race to Queenscliff sailed over the long weekend very much summed up the 2023-24 sailing season. The winds were light to non-existent and this meant that no boats finished at the West Channel Pile Light by the 1630hr time limit. From memory, most boats were still in the vicinity of RBYC 1 an hour after the start. …

S.M.A.R.T Series #2: Rules of racing

Understand the rules below? well if not then this night is for you. The evening is broken into two sessions 6pm "The Basics" and 6.30pm "Advanced" . Hosted by club and International jury member Paul Pascoe, this will be a very informative evening for the novice to Intermediate sailors but is open to all. Getting on the race course is daunting enough and then there are all the rules we need to know. These are here to keep it safe and fair for all and unfortunately not knowing (or understanding) them is not an excuse in a jury room.
Note: Winter hours mean kitchen is closed but members bar is open.

Frostbite 23 June

RMYS GC and Juniors take on RMYS GC and Juniors
2024 Frostbite Cruise: Weekend of June 29/30th.
TThe Cruising Group’s social event for June will be the annual Frostbite Cruise, to be held over the weekend of June 29/30th, 2024. This annual cruise up the Yarra will take place on the weekend of June 29/30th, to Melbourne City Marina (Docklands) and will coincide with the Melbourne Firelight Festival.
Seven RBYC boats are presently registered for the cruise. Because of heavy bookings at MCM, including a contingent from RMYS, no more berth slots are currently available.
Because of the heavy bookings, the marina lounge may not be available to us Saturday night, however plans are in place for sundowners on one or more of the boats that evening. The traditional Frostbite BBQ is planned for Sunday lunchtime and will be the Cruising Group’s social event for June. All are welcome to come and join the BBQ on Sunday, whether you get there by boat, car or train.
If you would still like to bring your boat and are not yet registered for the Cruise, perhaps phone MCM closer to the date in case of any cancellations.

Hi everyone, On the field: The round started at the Gabba last Friday night, with Brisbane hosting St Kilda. Surprisingly, the Saints kicked a high total of 16 goals in this game and played a strong second half. However, it wasn't quite good enough, as the Lions got the win by 20 points. On Saturday, hopes were high amongst Richmond …

Whats On

Next up we have Brad Representing England in the chef's challenge.
His go to dish is 'Pie and a Pint' served with baby carrots , peas , gravy and triple cooked chunky chips. This week we are offering Steak & Potato or Chicken, Leek and Mushroom
What this meal means to Brad:
"I'm thrilled to share a dish that's close to my heart and a staple of British culture: 'Pie and a Pint'! This classic comfort food combination brings back fond memories of my childhood, playing for Poulton Town FC, and proudly sponsored by Pukka Pies.
It reminds me of cozy pub gatherings with friends and family, cheering on our favorite teams and savoring the perfect pairing of a warm pie and a cold drink
As the Euros football competition heats up, I'm excited to share this taste of home with you all. My 'Pie and a Pint' is a love letter to British tradition, and I can't wait for you to take a bite and join in the celebration! COME ON ENGLAND!!!
