MESSAGE FROM COMMODORE
This week is a time for reflection. You will see the flags around the club to commemorate ANZAC Day. As usual the club will hold an ANZAC day service from 1130 am on 25 April. Whenever we are in the members bar, we see the honour boards, and remember those club members who served in the two world wars, as well as subsequent conflicts. Twenty-five of these lost their lives in the two world wars, and many others endured terrible hardships. Chris de Fragas in his history of Royal Brighton Yacht Club acknowledges the impact of both world wars on the club. He mentions that in the case of the second World War, the 269 members who saw service represented a large percentage of club membership. We honour their memory, as well as the memory of the many thousands of men and women in our community who have experienced the trauma of war. Lest we forget.

Hi everyone, What a season we are having with many unexpected results again this week. On the field: St Kilda probably suffered the effects of playing their third game in 11 days when they met the Western Bulldogs at Etihad last Thursday night. Both teams were under scrutiny, but the Dogs came out firing, kicking seven goals to one in the …

Last week, RBYC was proud to host the ORCV with an inspiring interview with s ailing legend Jeanne Socrates, world record breaking solo sailor currently in NZ. P assionate young local keelboat sailor Melissa Warren, ORCV General committee member and regular offshore racer on RBYC's Jaffa, facilitated a lively session with the oldest person to have sailed round the world "singlehandedly , unassisted and non-stop via the Five Great Capes" in 2019. And it was not an easy ride.....
