SMART Classes : 13, 27 Aug and 3 Sept
|
Club Captain Marnie Irving introduced the first of our four part SMART series last Wednesday evening, which was presented by our Race Officer Rod McKenna. Rod spoke about getting ready to race, including understanding the flags and course signals. This was appreciated by both new and experienced skippers. This week’s session by experienced one design sailor Brendon Jukes (also RBYC’s 2025 Sailor of the Year) will be another opportunity that shouldn’t be missed. Brendon will talk about starts and sail trim, which we can all learn more about, no matter how long we have been sailing.

The second day of racing for VXOnes at Airlie Beach had to be abandoned due to the fresh conditions. You can bet that David Williamson and Brett Bowden, along with their crew and supporters are having a great time up there anyway. All the best for the rest of the series!
