Celebrating NAIDOC Week - The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy

This week we are flying the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags in honour of NAIDOC Week (6-13 July). The 2025 theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead.

A reminder for members who have a Boat/Ski/Foil or Kayak stored at RBYC either in the Yard, Undercroft or Sturrock Building. All stored items must have a Season storage tag. These are to be attached to the beach dolly or for Ski/Foil etc attached to the storage area of the item. Please collect your tag from the Sailing Office (Tues - Sat).

The Ocean Racing Club of Victoria strongly encourages all members to attend the upcoming Information Evening on Downwind Sailing in Heavy Air, hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA). This important session responds to the recommendations from the recent Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race Incident Report and is a vital learning opportunity for all sailors—no matter your level of experience. At ORCV, safety is at the core of everything we do. Events like this help us all lift our standards, prepare for the unexpected, and look after one another on the water.

We're delighted to announce we've booked opera singer Saskia Mascitti to perform Christmas carols for our Xmas in July event.Saskia Mascitti is a mezzo-soprano of Dutch and Italian heritage based in Melbourne/Naarm. Saskia completed a Master of Music (Opera Performance) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, under the tutelage of Roxane Hislop. Over the last ten years,Saskia has performed operas,

Women's Helm, Navigator & Radio Operator Race (WHNR) & Return Sprint (WRS)

ORCV have exciting news for all Victorian women keelboat sailors. The weekend of 26 July - 27 July is stamped for the return of their signature female focussed passage event, the Women's Helm, Navigator and Radio Operator Race/Cruise with a new format from RBYC to destination QCYC on Saturday and a new additional Women's Return Sprint from West Channel Pile to home clubs on Sunday.
