Winter is a good time to visit RBYC
There is no better place to look at the wild woolly weather than from the comfort of the RBYC restaurant or members bar. There are ongoing activities through winter both on and off the water…
|
- Each Wednesday and Saturday is yacht racing year round – and you’ll see OTB activity off the beach most days.
- Friday night is the annual members draw (Up to $1000 this week) – then at 7:00 pm is the Cruising Group dinner (open to all – see further down in this newsletter)
- Saturday is the Iceburgers annual winter solstice swim and dinner
- Australian Sailing is holding their club conference at RBYC this coming Saturday
- GC members and youth sailors will participate in the annual Frostbite regatta with Royal Melbourne Yacht Club on Sunday
- The Carvery is the first Sunday of each Month
- 11 July is the annual cocktail party & presentation night for all members – a party not to be missed!
- Keep an eye on this newsletter for more events over winter – including the August wine dinner.

RBYC's annual cocktail party is now open for bookings. This night is for all members to come and enjoy a mid winter celebration and help congratulate the season winners. Please call reception to book your tickets. Tickets are only $50pp

A reminder for members who have a Boat/Ski/Foil or Kayak stored at RBYC either in the Yard, Undercroft or Sturrock Building. All stored items must have a Season storage tag. These are to be attached to the beach dolly or for Ski/Foil etc attached to the storage area of the item. Please collect your tag from the Sailing Office (Tues - Sat). These tags need to be attached by 1/7/25

The 2.4 Metre Class has a new website.
|
The 2.4 Metre class now has a new website up and running, thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of several fleet members.
|
|
The class is going from strength to strength – apart from regular club racing with a growing fleet, the 2.4 Metre VIC States will be held at RBYC as part of Sail Melbourne from 20-30 Nov 2025, with the Australian Championship to be held at RBYC in January 2027.
|
|

5.5 Metre World Champions
|
We once again have the opportunity to add to the RBYC Worlds Champions honour board. Andrew Palfrey is part of the winning team in the 5.5 Metre Worlds – this time held in Sopot Poland. Andrew was part of the 2022 Championship team also. The Jean Genie (GBR 43, Peter Morton, Andrew Palfrey, Ruairidh Scott) were winners after some terrific racing.
