The Optimist Kings Cup Regatta & Carpark closure

The Kings Cup Regatta will be run over the Kings Birthday weekend with 40 Optimist sailors competing to have their name engraved on the coveted "Kings Cup". Saturday will be a training day with local and invited coaches followed by a Pizza and Film night in the Jock Sturrock Centre. The film being shown is the recent Netflix documentary about Australia II's win in the 1983 America's Cup and hosted on the evening by the event Patron and AC winning skipper, John Bertrand AO.

As a result of the event, the downstairs car park will be closed from 9pm Friday evening until Monday afternoon. The upstairs car park will still be open for club members. We apologise for any inconvenience.

To encourage Youth sailors to join the course, the ORCV is giving 1 place to each club to nominate someone 25 or under who would benefit from this course.
See our website for more information: https://www.orcv.org.au/training/foredeck-essentials.
If you are an RBYC member 25 years of age or under and would like to put yourself forward as a contender for this opportunity, contact Julian in the Sailing Office before the end of June at [email protected], along with the name of a referee.
