After Race Presentations in Members Bar
|
A reminder that the presentations of the race results on a Saturday take place in the members bar as soon as possible after racing (approx 4pm). We hope all crews will join in and help support the winners and those that just missed out. Its a great way to catch up, discuss tactics and enjoy your club. The members bar will be open for bar service from 3pm.

On the field: on Friday night, St Kilda put in another poor performance, losing to the Western Bulldogs by 28 points. This result combined with Richmond's surprising loss to North Melbourne on Saturday sees Richmond, Bulldogs and Saints all on 9 wins and fighting for the 8th spot in the finals. Gold Coast had a chance to join these teams on 9 wins in the late game but was not up to the task today and suffered a big loss to the Bombers. Geelong consolidated top spot on the ladder with a 5-goal win over Carlton on Saturday night at the MCG - the Blues fell away badly after the midway point of the second quarter. It was the Cats eighth straight win. Collingwood also made it 8 wins in a row with a hard-fought victory over the Crows at Adelaide Oval. The Magpies have been winning every close game - 4 of the 8 wins have been by less than a kick, 2 more by less than 2 kicks. Their latest win has moved them up to fifth on the ladder.

In other games, Sydney showed great fighting spirit in knocking off the Freo Dockers by 17 points in Perth on Saturday night. Brisbane got most of the players back who had missed last week's game and recorded a 40-point victory over GWS. Hawthorn made it two in a row with a 27-point victory over West Coast, while North Melbourne finally broke their long losing streak with a thrilling 4-point win over Richmond - the victory was the 'Roos first triumph since Round 2. Defending premiers Melbourne recorded a 14-point victory over Port Adelaide on Sunday afternoon.

Tipping: the unexpected losses by Richmond and Fremantle ensured that nobody tipped a perfect score this week. Scores mostly ranged between 5-7 with the following all sharing top tipping honours this week with 7 winners: Thrice Winner Hullsy, Andrew0711, RoyBoys12, Gebster, Lynchey and Amander Iceberger. Congratulations. We have a new leader on our overall leaderboard with Thrice Winner Hullsy now out in front on 109 total tips. Here is our leaderboard - only 5 rounds to go before our tipping champion for this season is known. There are still plenty of tipsters who are right in contention.
