Farewell to Pip Hare
|
On Monday, the Vendee Globe IMOCO 60 that was dismasted 700Nm south of Melbourne was loaded into the hold of a ship at Webb Dock, bound for Europe where it will be fitted with a new mast. Pip, assisted by club members from RBYC and ORCV and using RBYC's big rhib as the "tug boat", brought the yacht alongside the ship, strops attached and lifted and then lowered carefully into the hold of the ship. We wish Pip all the best for her next Vendee Globe race in four years time.
