Sat 8th Jan -Victorian Championship Race 2

Saturday 8th is the first of the Victorian Championships (Old Range Series) RBYC DIV 1 race in VC DIV 1 , RBYC DIV 2 race in VC DIV 3. This date will be hosted by SYC. Entry must be done via the below link.

SLYS help needed

BLiSS Regatta and Experience

On the 4th May 2025 RBYC will be holding its annual BLiSS Regatta and is part of the PPWSC series as well as a standalone regatta.

RBYC is also offering pre regatta training called the BLiSS Experience.

This provides the opportunity for female sailors to receive pre race coaching both on and off the water.

Participants will receive an on water session , lunch and off water session in the class room

Due to the generous support of Yacht Racing Services Association (YRSA) we are able to offer this experience at the subsided rate of $50pp.

Places are limited and bookings can only be made for one day

More on the 2.4 Nationals

Last week we noted the success of the strong RBYC 2.4 team at the Nationals in Paynesville. Sail World has published a full and highly entertaining report with some great photos – here is a link.
We mentioned that John Collingwood came second behind Peter Russell, with Peter Coleman third. This article also points out that RBYC members Neil Patterson and Peter Coleman have been awarded lifetime membership to the 2.4 Association for their contribution to the class. It also notes that the 2.4mR class in Australia will celebrate its 30th Australian Championship in 2027 at RBYC.

Congratulations to the RBYC ILCA sailors

The NSW- ACT Master 2025 was held over the weekend of 1st & 2nd of February . RBYC had representatives in both the Masters and Grand Masters and all did really well..
In the Grand Masters class ILCA 6 we had Stuart Wallace (5th), Damon Cook (6th), Nik Ede (8th). The Great Grand Masters class ILCA 6 was Michael O'Brien (1st) Tony McPhail (4th), Robert Jeffreys (9th), Steve Gunther (10th ICLA 7)

At the 2025 Optimist National Championships at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Theo Altson sailed well in a highly competitive fleet of over 150 boats, finishing 19th in his division.
